Black Friday email template for BigCommerce (2026)
Many BigCommerce merchants send their marketing email through a connected email service. Whichever one you use, the work is the same: a clear offer, a short message and a button that goes to the right page. Here is a template and a checklist. Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday is November 30.
Your email tool may be BigCommerce’s own or a separate service, and menus change often, so the steps below stay general. For exact labels, check the help pages of the tool you use.
Before you open the editor
- Lock in the offer. Write it as one plain sentence with an end date. (Want more ideas? See Black Friday sale ideas.)
- Build the promotion in your store. Create the coupon or automatic discount, and make sure its rules and dates match what you will tell customers.
- Pick the destination. One category, product or sale page.
- Prepare images. A few clean product shots, sized for email.
- Define the audience. Past buyers and subscribers who agreed to marketing email. Leave out anyone who unsubscribed.
The template
Paste the text, then replace each item in braces.

Headline: Black Friday pricing starts now
Hi {first name},
Our weekend sale is open and ends Monday, November 30: {offer, in plain words}.
Look for these in the sale: {product 1}, {product 2} and {product 3}.
Button: Browse the sale (link to your sale page)
{Order-by date for holiday delivery, if you can promise one.}
Best,
{shop name}
General steps
- Open the email tool connected to your store and start a new campaign.
- Choose a simple template or a blank layout, and keep to one column.
- Add the subject and preview text from above.
- Write the body. Include a heading, a short message, a couple of product images and one button.
- Add the link carefully. Copy the page address from your live storefront, and test any link that applies a coupon automatically.
- Choose the audience and confirm it contains only opted-in contacts.
- Send a test to yourself and one other person, and read it on a phone.
- Schedule the send. Check the date, time and time zone before you confirm.
Test checklist
- Place a test order. Does the discount calculate as the email says?
- Do the sale dates in the email match your promotion settings?
- Does every link go where you expect?
- Are your address and unsubscribe link in the footer?
- Are the product names and images in the email the same as on your store?
A sensible weekend run
One email rarely covers a whole holiday weekend. A common approach is a heads-up, the main launch, a reminder and a Cyber Monday last call. The send schedule guide suggests when to send each, and the email examples guide offers sample wording. Other platforms: WooCommerce and Wix.
