Black Friday email template for Shopify Email (2026)
If your store runs on Shopify, you can build your Black Friday emails in Shopify Email. This guide covers what to have ready, a template to paste in, and a checklist before you schedule. Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026.
Menus and button names change as Shopify updates its tools, so this guide keeps the steps general. If something is labeled differently in your admin, look for the closest match, or check Shopify’s own help pages.
Before you open the editor
- Settle the offer. One plain sentence: what it is, what it covers, when it ends. (Need ideas? See Black Friday sale ideas.)
- Set up the discount in your store. Create the discount code or automatic discount first, and note the exact start and end times.
- Choose your link. Pick the collection or product page the button should open.
- Pick photos. Gather two or three clear product images.
- Decide who gets it. Everyone who has agreed to marketing emails, or a segment such as past customers.
The template
Paste the text into your campaign, then replace everything in braces.
Preview text: {Three best sellers} are included.
Headline: {Offer} through Monday

General steps
- Create a new campaign from the Shopify Email area of your admin, and choose a layout you like or a blank one.
- Add your subject and preview text from the template above.
- Build the body. Add a heading, your short text, product images or product blocks and one button. Keep it to one column and one main action.
- Add personalization carefully. If you use the customer’s first name, check what shows for contacts with no name on file.
- Select your audience. Confirm the list or segment, and that it only includes people who have opted in to marketing.
- Send a test to yourself and open it on a phone.
- Schedule it. Choose the date, time and time zone, and confirm them on the summary before you finish.
Test checklist
- Does the button open the right page, and does the discount apply at checkout?
- Do the dates and times match the discount you set up?
- Is the unsubscribe link and your business address present in the footer?
- Does the subject plus preview text read well together?
- Does the email look right with images off?
A sensible weekend run
One email is rarely enough. A common small-shop plan is a heads-up, an early-access or main announcement, a reminder and a Cyber Monday last-chance email. The send schedule guide lays out when to send each, and the email examples guide has copy for all six. Using a different platform? See the guide on adapting your run for Mailchimp or Klaviyo.
